A cake feast only for the eyes

With Christmas round the corner, the cake show is drawing attention with its artistically designed cakes. Cake models of ‘Swami Narayana Aksharadhma’, ‘Infant Jesus Shrine’, ‘Vidhana Soudha’, ‘A flat by Roy Constructions’, ‘Church’, ‘Temple’, ‘Mosque’, ‘wedding cakes’ are on display.

“The cake show is portraying religious harmony between Hindus, Muslims and Christians by making models of monuments related to these religions”, said Rakno Editor Fr Francis Rodrigues blessing the event.

Inaugurating the expo MLA UT Khader said that the event organisers have tried to enhance the spirit of Christmas with the exhibition.

This exhibition is a great crowd puller and helps to spread the Christmas message of peace and happiness, he added.

Speaking to Deccan Herald Proprietor of United Events and Exhibitions Vincent D’Costa said that about 30 to 50 kgs of cake has been used and more than 50 people have worked for 3 months to make the cake models.

Shopping gala

The expo is not limited to cake models but has different stalls where cakes, Christmas embellishments are on sale. Harry’s Unique Collectibles with antiques of Konkani tradition is enthralling the crowd. Stalls selling furniture, artificial jewellry, clothes, food items and other household paraphernalia is also present. The cake show will be open till January 2.
