The accused has been identified as Chetankumar (30) of Palahalli village of Srirangapatna taluk. He was absconding since the day the accident occurred.
The police arrested him based on a tip off that the accused was roaming in Srirangapatna along with Sanjeevmurthy, a relative of the tempo owner.
