The couple, after being treated at a hospital in Varanasi,  have returned to the city.

Sureshprasad met Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta on Tuesday morning and explained to him about the whole incident.

He told the deputy commissioner that he has lost hearing due to deafening sound of the explosives used to carry out the blast. The government of Uttar Pradesh had already given him the compensation depending upon the nature of the injuries, besides free treatment.

Further, he said that he cannot work for the next three to four months till the injuries heal.

He also requested for the financial assistance from the State Government to support his family till such time.

Gupta told him that there is no provision under the law to give the compensation since the incident had been happened in Uttar Pradesh. However, he assured to help him under any scheme of the State Government and collected application forms.

Harsh Gupta told Deccan Herald that the doctors of K R Hospital would examine Suryaprasad to find out the nature of the injuries and give a report which would be enclosed along with the application.

Efforts would be made to get assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund at the earliest. “We are taking extra care as the victim belongs to Karnataka”, he added.

Gupta said the application along with the doctors’ opinion duly authorised by the district health officer would be sent to the chief minister’s office in next two to three days.

Henceforth, it would be followed up to help the couple as early as possible, he noted.
