BU staff call off strike

The VC has directed the Registrar (Evaluation) to take immediate measures to provide basic facilities to the staff.

A separate room to the BU Non-teaching Employees' Association and a restroom for women employees would be provided at the Jnana Bharathi campus within a week. Further, an order was issued for providing uniforms to all the agitating employees. A tender will be invited for providing health insurance to the non-teaching staff as well.

The post of Prasaranga (printing press) co-ordinator will be given to a non-teaching staff. 

With regard to the transfer of employees, the Syndicate would discuss it in its next meeting. A policy will be framed for providing reservation to the employees’ children. The Finance Officer will invite the tender within a week for maintaining BU's residential quarters. 

NET as scheduled

The UGC National Eligibility Test, which was in limbo due to the strike, would be held in 11 centres under BU as scheduled, the coordinator for the test said.
