Shetty told reporters that Ravindra has committed gross violation of the model code of conduct, which is in force in view of the local body elections. “Ravindra was on an official visit to Mangalore on December 23 to oversee the functioning of the MUDA. However, he took advantage of his official visit and addressed the press to extend support to the BJP in the elections. He also exhorted party workers to ensure the success of BJP candidates,” he added.
Further he pointed out that Ravindra had used a government vehilce, which belonged to the MUDA, to campaign for BJP candidates. It can be recalled that Deccan Herald had exposed the violation in its columns on December 24.
