BEML workers go on hunger strike

All meetings with the administration regarding their six demands have failed. The administration is reluctant to provide the workers better facilities. It has only brought up unnecessary issues to ensure that the demands are not met.

In the wake of such complaints, the BEML Workers' Coordination Committee in Kolar Gold Fields, Mysore and Bangalore divisions has begun the hunger strike.

The satyagraha would continue till December 30, said Workers' Union secretary A R Babu.

More intense
The Workers' Union has warned that if the ongoing hunger strike too fails to convince the administration to fulfill the above demands, the next stage would involve a much more aggressive protest by the workers.
