Excise had their tails up going into half-time with a 2-0 lead.<br /><br />CoE appeared more purposeful in their approach in the second half. Manikantha and Mohammad Yavar, who played a stellar role in CoE’s win against PCTC on Monday, created some good scoring opportunities for them. Chances unfortunately went abegging for the Kengeri-based outfit due to their own lapses upfront and the tight defence of Central Excise. <br /><br />In the 50th minute, CoE got their third penalty corner and this time they found the target. Sampath wasted no time in converting the penalty-corner Excise’s Vivek and Nilesh were leading the sorties assisted by Anup and Ajay.<br /><br />They were rewarded with a penalty-corner in the 53rd minute for their regular prowls but were denied a goal by CoE custodian Shan.
