Vedike flays Sen's conviction

Forwarding the memorandum to Union Law and Justice Minister M Veerappa Moily through DC Hemalatha, Komu Sauharda Vedike President G Rajashekhar said the verdict should be strongly opposed as it is against the justice. “The life sentence for Sen is fatal and he has been made scapegoat for vested interests. Most of the times at crucial juncture, two main political parties of India BJP and Congress join hands to accomplish their hidden agendas. It is well testified in Sen’s case. Sen has been labeled as naxal supporter, only for the reason to facilitate uninterrupted transportation of tribal people in Dantewada region. He has already served two years in jail. He has been sentenced for guilt that he has not committed. It is high time for government to act swiftly and discharge all the charges against the activist,” he added.

Questioning the evidence based on which Sen was sentenced, he said government has brought in ideological reasons. The Court has been influenced by anti Maoist testimonies that have been produced by police of Chattisgarh, he said.
