Crime Prevention Month; public co-operation sought

    Speaking at a programme organised as part of Crime prevention month here on Wednesday, he wanted people to inform the cops if they come across any suspicious persons or items in their surroundings. It was also important to take down vehicle number and the driver before engaging any private vehicle on rent. He also advised women not to wear gold ornaments while going outside without any protection.

Speaking on occasion, Police Sub-Inspector Deepak informed public to make alternative arrangements for the protection of their houses whenever they go on tour or outside for long days. It would be good to keep the police informed, he added.

He wanted people to strictly follow traffic rules while crossing the roads to prevent  occurrence of any mishaps . He said talking on mobile phones while driving is an offence, he added.

Rally
Earlier, the students form various colleges of the taluk participated in the rally organised by Town Police Station, as part of crime prevention month in Sakleshpur.

The rally passed through main streets of the town. The students carried placards appealing the citizens to follow traffic rules. They distributed hand bills on ill-effects of consuming alcohol and other issues. Sakleshpur Rural Police Sub-Inspector Raju and other police personnel participated in the programme.
