Many developmental programmes are going on in the district'

 As much  as Rs 20 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the Sir M V district Administrative complex and the work will be launched shortly, said District In-charge and Wakf and Minority Welfare Minister Dr Mumtaz Ali Khan on Wednesday.

He was speaking after inspecting the earmarked land for the construction of Administrative Complex at the Gopalakrishna tank bed on the outskirts of the Chikkaballapur on Wednesday. An additional Rs 5 crore has also been sanctioned for the construction purpose, Khan added.

Explaining the developmental works being taken up in the district, he said that there are many programmes which are going on in the district as against reports in the media that no developmental works are going on in the district.

 The foundation laying ceremony of the swimming pool has been conducted on Wednesday.

Technology university

After July 25, construction of district offices will be taken up. As many as 200 acre land has been sanctioned for the Sir M V Technological University for the purpose of setting up high level research centre.

A proposal has been submitted for establishing a sports village in an area of 2,500 acre. As many as 25 acre land has been given for Goshala, he stated.

Union Minister for Law Veerappa Moily has assured of establishing an IIT in Chikkaballapur, he said.

MLA K P Bache Gowda, deputy Commissioner Anwar Pasha, district Superintendent of Police Raveendra Prasad, sub divisional officer G V Seenappa, Tahsildar Nagaraj, executive engineer of Housing Construction Board Ashok and others were also present.
