The maximum was 29.2 degree Celsius. Though there has not been much change in the maximum temperature in the last three days, the minimum temperature plummeted by three degree Celsius in a single day. The minimum temperature was 10 degree Celsius on Monday.

December 19, 2010 recorded a minimum temperature of six degree Celsius, for the first time a century. The minimum temperature had remained below 10 degree Celsius thereafter, till January 2.

The average minimum temperature was 15 degree Celsius in the past few days and came down to 10 degree Celsius on Monday.

It is the first time in recent years that the chill has continued for so long in the region known for its hot weather.  Since a cold wave is sweeping the region, the minimum temperature is likely to remain low in the next few days, said sources in the meteorological department.
