JOIN USSpeaking at the valedictory of a state-level conference of the Agricultural Marketing Board in Bangalore on Thursday, Minister Tangadagi said that the programme had been conceived so that the members could familiarise themselves with the structure and functioning of the marketing boards in other states.
“We will come up with a plan outline in the next two to three days”, he said.
Faulty weights
The Minister also cautioned the officials not to allow irregularities in billing and use of faulty weights and measures. “Electronic measures must be used at all the agricultural markets and in case they do not, a heavy fine will be imposed,” he warned.
Tourism Minister Janardhan Reddy said that even APMC members must be allowed to elect Legislative Council members and he would discuss the matter with the Chief Minister. “All the local bodies already have this right and we have received a request that this should be extended to APMC members as well. We will look into the matter,” he promised.
Minister for Youth Services and Sports Goolihatti D Shekar, Member of Legislative Assembly Suresh Babu and APMC Director G Ramachandra were also present at the event.
