Chris Hayes-ridden Ace Blood, trained by Dhariwal, edged out favourite Mad About You to claim the Karnataka Racehorse Owners’ Association Trophy over 1200 metres, the plum event of Friday’s races here.
The race began with Mad About You (Suraj Narredu up) jumping into the lead and Ace Blood right behind in the four-horse field. At the straight, both Mad About You and Ace Blood took up the running and the two horses went head-to-head with Ace Blood just holding off the Darius Byramji-schooled horse to take the race by a long neck. Starista finished third while Free Styler came in fourth.
