<p>The giant pipe from Maharashtra, meant for MRPL, Mangalore had reached the town on December 14. Unable to take it further in the Shiradi Ghat-known for narrow road and hairpin bends, the 28-wheels truck carrying that pipe was stopped on the roadside.<br /><br />On Friday, 100-wheels hydraulic truck was specially brought from Mumbai to shift the big pipe. Two cranes lifted the pipe and mounted it on the other truck. <br /><br />The operation begun around 9 am and completed at around 2 pm. Hundreds of people gathered at the spot to witness the operation.<br /><br />Deputy Superintendent of Police Kala Krishnaswamy, Inspector Ganesh and others were present at the spot and had made security arrangements.</p>
