Textile meet on Jan 28, 29

The conference is being held in Karnataka after a gap of 40 years, at a time when the State has made enormous strides in the textile and clothing sector.

One of the key issues that the conference will be discussing is overcoming the downward trend in the textile sector in the last five to six years.

Karnataka accounts for nearly 20 per cent of the national garment production and eight per cent of national exports.

Organised by the Textile Association of India, Karnataka unit, the conference theme is ‘Expanding sustainable limits to India’s positioning in global textiles and clothing’.

The meet will focus on putting India on the global textile map, benchmarking against China, Asean, Vietnam and other competitive countries.
