Rs four-crore projects to tackle water crises during summer

Inspecting water tank at Bethamangala in Kolar Gold Fields on Monday he said the reservoir built by the British should be renovated. Filter bed at the tank will be repaired at a cost of Rs 45 lakh.

Talking about the measures that will be taken the water crisis he said new bore well will be sunk and every possible measure will be taken to ensure that the problem does not arise, he added.

Officers are directed to submit a report on Bethamangala tank encroachment. Few encroachers have been already identified, the Chairman said.

To enhance storage capacity, silt will be cleared regularly, Setty said and added that he would visit Kolar Gold Fields and Bethamangala every Tuesday till the water problem is completely solved.

Chief Engineer Ravindra Bhat, Superintendent Engineer Ranghadhamaiah, Technical Assistant Nagesh, Executive Engineer Venkatesh, Raghunath Setty, K Rajendran, Suresh Narayan, Prem, Satyanarayana and others were present.
