Dusk to dawn musical night

The concert will feature the doyen of Indian classical music and dance and seeks to cultivate appreciation and love for classical music and dance among the youth in general.

The nocturnal stage of Yamini would have young and up-and-coming artistes perform alongside established artistes and also weave the magic of their artistry which has descended from generations in its purest forms.  

The concert will be held in the open air theatre of IIMB on January 25 and will end at the break of the dawn on January 26. The artistes slated for Yamini this year are Padma Talwalkar, a Hindustani vocalist; Vyjayanthi Kashi, Kuchipudi dancer and the violinist brothers Ganesh and Kumaresh who have brought about a keen amalgamation of traditional Carnatic violin and the contemporary Western violin art.

P Unnikrishnan, a renowned Carnatic vocalist and playback singer will also perform in the night.  The concert will end with the performance by Ustad Shahid Parvez, who is one the finest contemporary practitioners of sitar from the renowned Etawah Gharana.
