The last meeting of Zilla Panchayat held on Wednesday remained peaceful without any acrimonious scenes from the members. As the say goes ‘habits die hard’, the members walked into the meeting hall one hour behind scheduled time and took part in the discussion.

There was no blame game from both the ruling and opposition party members. Apart from giving approval to various standing committees, no important matter was taken up for discussion. The members approved all the subjects without raising any objections. The issues on road repair, setting up primary health centres, distribution of sewing machines were discussed.

In-charge president K S Manjunath, ZP CEO Jayaram and chairmen of various standing committees Jawahar, K Lingegowda were present.

The delay in the meeting was attributed to the inauguration of the new extension building being constructed in the ZP premises.
