<p>The office of the Chief Electoral Officer has organised a programme to mark the occasion at Town Hall in Bangalore on Tuesday.<br /><br />The Centre recently declared January 25 as national voters’ day to spread awareness on importance of citizens’ participation in the election process. Chief Electoral Officer C S Suranjana, on Monday, told reporters that programmes would be held at booth, taluk and state levels. <br /><br />At booth level, newly-enrolled voters will be felicitated and they will be made to take a pledge to vote fearlessly and not yielding to considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement. <br /><br />Besides, new voters will get electoral photo identity cards (EPIC) on the occasion. The state-level function will be held at Town Hall in Bangalore. Governor H R Bhardwaj, State Election Commissioner C R Chikkamath will be present.</p>
