Members of Berhampur Citizens’ Action Committee and Rushikulya Banchao Adolana have been staging a dharna near the RDC’s office here for last four days demanding proper drinking water supply for the town.
Though the town had been facing acute drinking water scarcity during every summer, the state government failed to take any step to solve the problem, they said.
Narsingh Das, rickshaw puller was invited as the chief guest of the committee who hoisted the National Flag, where several eminent persons of the town including former deputy speaker of state Assembly Ram Chandra Panda and others were present.
