Unlimited fun under one roof

The Mysore City Corporation (MCC) plans to set up ‘Urban Entertainment Centre’ at an estimated cost of Rs 192 crore at Rayankere on Manandawadi Road on the city outskirts, an officer told Deccan Herald.

The “first-of-its-kind project”, which will come up on 70 acres of MCC land, could well give a tough competition to private parties in the realm.

The proposed centre will have world-class exhibitions, malls, amusement parks, hotels, mini theatres, a recreation centre for children, among others.

The project designed a year ago awaits approval from the Department of Municipal Administration. The subject was discussed in the recent single window agency meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary to the government and the Principal Secretary to Urban Development. The meeting decided to go for some changes aiming at bringing more revenue to the local body.

In all probability, the project will be taken up under public-private-partnership model on ‘Build Operate Own Transfer’ basis.
