Exserviceman creates awareness on vermi compost

To attract farmers towards organic farming and to popularise the concept of organic farming, an ex-servicemen at Yalagudige in Aldoor has been creating an awareness among students.
Progressive farmer Yalagudige Mallesh has succeded in organic farming in his eight acre land.
He has shown the farmers that vermi-compost can be prepared with less expenditure. To create an awareness on organic farming among school children, he visits various schools and demonstrates on the preparation of vermi compost.

Mallesh has visited more than 15 schools in Aldoor. He visits schools on his own expenditure and explains the students on the preparation of vermi compost using degradable waste.

Mallesh says the students can start self employment by producing vermi compost in the future. The students in Aldoor come from agriculture background.

Mallesh also delivers lectures for the teachers on the harmful affects of chemical fertilisers. “Chemical fertlisers will convert the land into a desert in the future. Along with the health of the human beings, we are spoiling the environment by using chemical fertilisers. We have to come out of the use of chemical fertilisers,” Mallesh says.
