Rains damage house in Puttur

Heavy rains accompanied with strong winds uprooted the tree on Sunday afternoon. The house belonged to a certain Raju. The loss has been estimated at Rs 20,000. Except few showers in the morning, Mangalore did not receive rains throughout the day. In the last 24 hours, Mangalore has received 45.6 mm, Puttur 43 mm, Sullia 46.8 mm, Bantwal 100.6 mm and Belthangady 60.8 mm rainfall. The water-level in Thumbay vented dam stood at 16.4 feet.

In Udupi

The district received an average rainfall of 42.13 mm for the last 24 hrs. Kundapur received 29 mm, Karkala 50.80 and Udupi 46.60 mm of rainfall. Rain has considerably receded in the district except for some drizzling.
