3 die of suspected dengue

 The deceased are Nandini (6), her father Jogappa (50) and Doddaiah, of the same village. Nandini was diagnosed with dengue after she underwent a check-up at K R Hospital in Mysore. Family sources said both Nandini and Jogappa were having high fever in the last one week. Doddaiah too had high fever for the last two days.While Jogappa had been shifted to K R Hospital, Nandini was undergoing treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Bangalore. Jogappa died at around 8:30 pm on Monday and his daughter Nandini succumbed at around  4 am on Tuesday. Doddaiah too died on Tuesday morning.

DHO Dr H L Krishnegowda confirmed the deaths. He said, the hospital records showed that Nandini was treated for dengue. However, the cause of death of the other two has not been confirmed. Blood samples will be sent to National Institute of Virology to know the exact reasons. Sources said, so far 41 cases of dengue and 78 cases of chikungunya have been reported in the district.
