CM's appeal to Centre

In his letter to Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel to take steps for inauguration of the Mysore airport. In his letter to the Union minister Yeddyurappa said, early inauguration of the airport was necessary as thousands of tourists were expected to witness the Dasara festival scheduled for September 2009. He has also appealed to the minister to introduce flights to Chennai, Delhi and other important cities from Mysore.

In the letter to Law minister Veerappa Moily, the CM appealed to him to include the construction works of court buildings and quarters in the budget estimates of 2009-10 and establish family courts in the State. He said Karnataka High Court had submitted proposals for Rs 402 crore for construction of court buildings, and Rs 16.57 crore for family courts. The CM has urged the Union minister to allocate stipulated 75 per cent of the total cost of the proposals.

He has urged the Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee to consider the State’s demands for new railway lines.
