JOIN USSomasundar Heggade was killed on the spot, and Nagabhushan, who rode pillion sustained injuries when the motorcycle they were riding crashed on the Banaswadi Main Road.
Heggade who was over- speeding, lost control of his bike on a road hump near Anjaneyaswamy temple. Both of the riders fell down on the road. Heggade sustained severe head injuries and died instantaneously. Nagabhushan was rushed to the hospital.
Both Heggade and Nagabhushan are from Salaga village in Mundgod Taluk of Uttara Kannada District.
In another accident, Nanjunde Gowda (55), a security guard in a garment factory, was killed when an unknown vehicle knocked him down while he was trying to cross Hosur Road on Sunday night.
Madivala Traffic Police shifted him to NIMHANS as he had sustained head injuries, but he died of his injuries in the hospital.
House burgled
Thieves struck at a house in Papareddypalya and fled with cash and other valuables worth Rs three lakh on Sunday night.
In a complaint lodged with the Jnanabharathi police station, Sampath Kumar stated that the thieves had gained entry into the house by breaking open the front door and taken away jewellery from an almirah, the complaint stated.
