JOIN USRiyan, son of Siddiqui, a labourer, was being fed by his mother around 12.30 in the afternoon in front of their house at Rupena Agrahara.
When his mother went inside the house, the boy was still playing.
When she came out after a few minutes, he had disappeared. She searched for her son with the help of a few neighbours, but in vain.
The couple lodged a complaint with the police who began search operations along with the Fire department officers.
A nearby drain was also searched, but there was no trace of the boy. Police rule out the boy drowning in the drain as it is very narrow.
Youth assaulted
A youth was assaulted by unidentified persons with an iron rod outside a bar and restaurant in Subramanyapura on Monday night.
Police said the victim, Sunil (26) from Kothnur Dinne and his friend Jagadish had gone to a bar in Kothnur Main Road for a drink.
A group of men picked up a quarrel with Sunil over a petty issue at the bar. They left after a heated exchange of words with him.
When Sunil came out of the bar, the miscreants assaulted him on the head with an iron road and also stabbed him in the stomach.
A heavily bleeding Sunil was immediately shifted to a private hospital. His condition is said to be critical.
Police have registered an attempt to murder case and are on the lookout for the suspects.
