Delimitation: BBMP's final notification in a day or two

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Principal Secretary of Urban Development Department Thangaraj said the final notification will be issued in a day or two. He said more than 1,500 complaints and suggestions had been received by the government, and most of them will be addressed in the final notification. The official added that most of the complaints are related to the naming of the wards and the boundaries. “Whichever complaints we found to be genuine, we have sorted them out. The final notification, which will be out in a day or two,” the officer added.

The government is under pressure to hold the BBMP polls before July 31. After the final notification of the delimitation of wards, the government will reserve the wards. Once the reservation of wards is done, it can then move the files to the State Election Commission, for holding the BBMP elections.
