The film has an ensemble cast consisting of Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover, Rati Agnihotri, Arya Babbar, Neelima Azeem, Tom Alter, Razzak Khan among others. The hunt for the heroine is still on. The shooting for the film begins in March.

Noted film-maker Mahesh Bhatt directed the muhurat shot of the film recently in Mumbai.
The film is being produced by True Media Talkies and directed by debutant director Shuja Ali. The movie, set in the historical city of Lucknow, is based on social issues of the present times.

It is in the genre of films like Aamir and Mumbai Meri Jaan. The story is set around the time of the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai that took the entire nation by storm.

Says Ganesh, “I am extremely excited to work with stalwarts like Anupamji and Gulshanji whose body of work I greatly admire. I play a young bank executive and Gulshanji plays my father in the film. He is a staunch Muslim in the movie. Anupamji plays a doctor.”

“The story revolves around how Anupamji and I join hands to save what we think is more important than anything else in the world — a human life. The strong message that the film gives out is saving one life is like saving the entire humanity.”

Apparently the director and producer were impressed with Ganesh’s screen presence after seeing the rushes of Kandahar.

Says Ganesh, “I owe it to Mahesh Bhattji. He has been a key supporter of this project from the beginning. In fact, he will also play an important cameo in the film. I had shown him my film Unnai Pol Oruvan last year where he had liked my performance. And when the producer and director asked him for his opinion, he told them that I was the right choice.”

He added, “I am happy to team up with music director Shamir Tandon, who had also scored the music for Kandahar. Sukhwinder Singh, Shaan, Lata Mangeskar and Asha Bhosle have rendered some beautiful melodies for this film.” Ganesh will also have two Tamil releases this year – Muriyadi and Pani Thuli.
