Titled Yaadein-4, the concert consisted of classic Hindi songs and was being held for the fourth time since April as it has been a big hit with the people. The fourth edition of the concert took place at the Ambedkar Bhavan to a packed audience.

“Since our first concert in April, there has been great demand for our songs. So we decided to connect to people through the compositions of the legendary Shankar-Jaikishan this time and also pay a tribute to the duo for their immortal and indelible compositions. We also wanted to relive the old melodies and connect to people through these rare compositions of yesteryears,” said Sinchan Dixit, the organiser as well as a Sa Re Ga Ma Pa finalist who sung at the concert. The singers — Joseph Devaraj, Urvi Shah and Sanjay Singh — were accompanied by Jayaram and team on the instruments.

The crowd began to cheer and applaud the singers soon as they came on stage and started singing the numbers of Rafi and Lata. The concert began with Aa Bhi Jaa from the movie Teesri Kasam which was rendered by Sinchan. This was followed by Aasmaan Se Aaya Farishta from An Evening In Paris sung by Biju.

Some of the soulful numbers included Ichak Dana Beechak Dana and Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua from Shree 420 sung by Urvi, Rahul, Simran, Biju and Sinchan. Urvi Shah is a class ten student who has been singing for the last eight years. “It is a wonderful opportunity and a dream come true for me to be singing along with such great singers. It’s a great privilege to be performing at this show since it is one of the most important milestones of my musical career,” she said.

The last few numbers tugged at the heartstrings of the audience. Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan from Mera Naam Joker and Dil Ke Jharoke Mein from Brahmachari, two soulful renditions received a thunderous applause. The audience were seen humming the tunes and cherishing the melodies of yesteryears. “This was one of the best old Hindi song concerts I have ever attended. These mellifluous melodies were absolutely soothing,” said Manjunath, an IT professional. Guru, another IT professional said, “The selection of songs and the beautiful lyrics of each number made the evening truly fantastic.”
