Despite protests held by the party against shifting of the bus stand the government is planning to demolish the old bus stand on Sunday. The KSRTC authorities had taken anti -people decision in spite of instructions from District In-charge Minister V Somanna not to shift the bus stand till further orders. The KSRTC authorities were taking ‘unilateral’ decisions only to please contractor who had been entrusted with the task of building shops at the new bus stand.<br /><br />On the demolition of old bus stand, Prakash said the KSRTC was operating buses from the old bus stand. That land belonged to the City Municipal Council which had given on lease to the State Transport Corporation. The party would take a suitable decision after verifying the documents, he added.<br /><br />Officer speaks<br /><br />Meanwhile, Divisional Controller of KSRTC Basavaraj told Deccan Herald that a proposal to operate the buses from the new bus stand was pending before the government. Till then, they would not take any decision, he added.<br /><br />In the midst of all these developments, the KSRTC director and chief engineer of KSRTC inspected the new bus stand to see the facilities. “No proposal is pending before the government to demolish the old bus stand”, he added.</p>
