Writers seek curbs on conversion

They alleged that several Christian missionaries are into forced religious conversions. They lure people of other communities by offering money and land.

Addressing a press conference in Bangalore on Monday, Doddarange Gowda said that forced religious conversions are anti-national and anti-Constitution. Because of the continuing conversions, the minorities have been losing love and affection of majority community - Hindus.

Welcoming the findings of the Justice B K Somasekhar Commission’s report, both said neither the Vishwa Hindu Parishat nor Bajrang Dal was behind the attacks on churches. Only poor Hindus protested against religious conversions. They appealed to Christians to stop conversions and refuse donations from abroad for such activities.
