Innovative minds at work

NIRMAANA

 Conceptualised in three rounds, the Nirmaana provided enough fodder for budding entrepreneurs.

The first round was called Prathisthana, where students presented their business plans on various topics. More than 25 most practical and relevant plans were chosen from this round.

This was again tested for their applicability in the second round, which was called Unnathi. The third and final round of Nirmaana was named Shikara — Pinnacle of Success.  A total of seven finalists presented their plans to a panel of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and management experts.

Shanmuga, a second year mechanical engineering student at DSCE and his team, emerged as the winner for their innovative business plan High Clean Solution.

They won the cash prize of Rs one lakh. The runners-up were Raj Janagam and Sagar Sinde from NMIMS University, Mumbai for their eco-friendly plan Cycle Chalao. 

“We are really happy on the kind of response that we have received for this contest. We received more than 80 business plans as soon as we announced the contest. There is no doubt that this competition has helped the future entrepreneurs,” said Dr Lakshmi Jagannathan, Head of the Department for Management Studies. V R Ferose, MD, SAP Labs and Bhaskar Bhat, Managing Director of Titan Industries were also present at the event.
