The deceased identified as Basavaraj (42), bore injury marks on his head, Assistance Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ulsoorgate Sub-Division Gachinakatti said.
Quoting the complaint lodged by the wife of Basavaraj, who was working as a ward boy in ESI hospital in Indira Nagar, he said Basavaraj got a phone call on his mobile last evening after which he left home and returned after an hour. The moment he reached home, he collapsed and was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries last night.
His wife Kamala alleged that a family acquaintance could be behind her husband's murder.
