Participating in the railway budget discussions held in the Lok Sabha, Dhruvanarayan said it would help the youths in the district.

It would benefit the unemployed to search for jobs in the State Capital and also the patients for availing treatment in Bangalore. It would also link the State capital with the border district.

He said the district was fast developing and if the frequency of trains was increased it would further help in the overall development of the district. The railways should include it in the current year’s budget proposals, he added.

Apart from this, he also wanted the Mysore-Shimoga train to be extended up to Chamarajanagar as it would benefit farmers in a great way. It would enable the farmers to sell coconuts in Mysore and Arsikere regions.

He urged the minister to implement the extension for both train routes. Later, he demanded that the train to Hubli be extended up to Chamarajanagar as it would link south Karnataka with north Karnataka region. It would help farmers to procure machinery from Dharwad and Kolhapur.

Dhruvanarayan said that these three services were the major train links that would assist the people. He also favoured a new line between Bangalore and Chamarajanagar via Malavalli and Kollegal.

Appreciating the railways for helping the development of the country, he said that providing 12 new trains to the State is progressive thinking.

He said that there are still a few more routes that are needed for the State. Railways should help development in the Chamarajanagar district, he added.
