SAI overpower Blues in lop-sided title clash

SAI’s Abhishek, named the best player of the tournament, caught Blues’ defence off guard as he accounted for a match-high 22 points and also helped hsi team gain a 38-19 lead at the half-time whistle.

Ananda, who has been the chief scorer for Blues right through the tournament, played a pivotal role with his 11-point effort but the fast paced SAI lads looked well in control right through. Rajesh Uppar (18) and Sharath S (14) made the most of the momentum and chipped in to give SAI 25 points in the third quarter alone.

Not only did SAI score at will, they also did a very good job at drying up Blues’ scoring. |

The Blues managed scores of 2, 17 and 7 in the first three quarters.

Results: SAI, Dharwad: 68 (Abhishek 22, Rajesh Uppar 18, Sharath S 14) bt Southern Blues: 37 (Ananda 11, Shylu 7). HT: 38-19.
