HC adjourns hearing PIL on mining

Last Updated 11 March 2011, 16:43 IST

The adjournment was granted after the CBI counsel sought time to file reply. The court also gave liberty to the respondents to file objections to an amendment application moved by the petitioners.

The application sought directions to act against Tourism Minister G Janardhana Reddy for not responding to summons and warrants issued against him. The Union government, in its objections has stated that it is the responsibility of the state government to check all illegal mining within its borders and that it would be bound by the decisions of the High Court.
