Bangarpet DySP K Seshadri and S M Shivakumar, a police inspector in Jagalur are the  transferred police officers.

M V Seshan, Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) will replace Seshadri, while Shivakumar has been moved to the State Intelligence Department.

Talking to the Deccan Herald, Shivakumar confirmed thus,” I am aware that the candidates who will be contesting in the forthcoming by elections, which is scheduled to be held on April 9, wanted me out. They have succeeded in doing so. I am delighted that they consider me as a hurdle in their path.”

KAT stays order

DySP Seshadri approached the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) and secured a stay on March 8, against his transfer order issued on March 5.

Seshadri, a 1990 batch officer, is yet to complete his two-year term, which he took charge of in 2009.

According to sources, Seshadri got the transfer orders while he was on leave. In a short span his position was taken over by M V Seshan (BMTP). Seshadri also served copies of the stay order issued by the KAT to KGF Superintendent of Police, on March 8. However, he was advised to obey the orders. Meanwhile, a dejected Seshadri requested for extension of leave, which was declined by his senior. Now the transferred police officer is planning to file a contempt petition.

Handiwork of politicians

Bangarpet Congress MLA M Narayaswamy and Jagalur MLA S V Ramachandra joined the BJP, as part of the ‘Operation Lotus.’ This necessitated a byelection.

It is suspected that these influential politicians, before the imposition of the elections code of conduct, have got the two police officers transferred.
