Passengers stranded as smoke emanates from coach

The Puri-Hazrat Nizamuddin Utkal Express halted near Malatipatapur between Puri and Bhubaneswar as smoke emanated from below an A/C coach due to the tight fitting of a belt, the sources said.

However, there was no fire and all the passengers were safe, a senior Railway official said, adding that train services on the Puri-Howrah route were not affected due to the incident.
The train resumed its onward journey after repairs were made, the official said.
