DC issues notices to 98 pvt medical clinics

He said there is a need to initiate action against those establishments which do not follow the rules and regulations. He directed the DHO to issue notices under Section 22. There are 69 establishments in Mangalore, 14 in Bantwal, 9 in Puttur, 5 in Sullia and one in Belthangady. Notices have been issued to 772 establishments to set right the loopholes. As many as 79 establishments are eligible for registration under KPME act. October 24, 2010 was the last date for registering under KPME Act.

The DHO said the authorities have received 940 applications from Mangalore taluk for the registration of medical establishments under KPME Act. The committee has inspected as many as 384 establishments. As many as five teams have been constituted to inspect the remaining establishments. The authorities have received 184 applications in Bantwal taluk.

Of which, about 179 establishments have been inspected. All the 179 establishments in Puttur have been inpscted. In Sullia, the authorities have received 96 applications. Of which, 84 establishments have been inspcted.
