The event was a huge success with students turning out in unexpected numbers from across diverse disciplines including management, engineering, law and chartered accountancy.

More than 200 teams, each team comprising two members, participated in the preliminary round. Teams had even come from Davanagere, Mysore, Chikmagalur and Tumkur. In the preliminary round, the students had to answer 20 ‘non-Googleable’ questions on major international brands. Quiz master Giri Balasubramanium made this brain-storming session a lively event with his wit and tricky questions. Four teams got direct entry into the final round based on their scores in the preliminary round. The last two teams were selected through the wildcard round. The rules of the quiz were inspired by cricket. The wild card round was called Super Over in which six questions were asked to six selected teams.

Finally, the team from ICAI, Bangalore Chapter and an under-graduate team from SJCC made it to the finals. Following an exciting battle of wit and grit, Mohit and Vinay from ICAI, Bangalore Chapter came out victorious. Rituraj and Vinay R M from Christ University were the first runners-up and Pranav Ravikumar Varun from the National Law School, the second runners-up. “This victory has paved the way for our entry into the national rounds. This is indeed the most memorable moment in our lives as we had entered the finals through the wildcard round. We had tough competition from other teams at the regional round. So we are aware of the quality of the competition at the national level.

We need to prepare real hard for it,” said Mohit and Vinay after the contest.
Felicitating the winners at the prize-distribution ceremony, K Subramanya, Chief Executive Officer, Tata BP Solar India Limited said, “Students are the main strength of India. Events like this are an attempt to ignite young minds to promote knowledge and awareness among them. We should allow our youngsters to dream, innovate and set them in motion towards changing the lives of people.”

The winners of this contest will compete with regional winners from 23 other cities at the national finals scheduled to be held in Mumbai.
