2 examinees held for assaulting invigilator

Chandrashekar Hiremath, the invigilator who suffered minor injuries, was treated at a hospital.

A few students and their parents rushed to the examination hall and demanded that students be allowed to copy. When the invigilator objected to it, he was assaulted.

The police who were present at the examination centre sought reinforcements, and the situation was brought under control.

Even though the police detained two students for assaulting the invigilator, no complaint was filed until evening.

To ensure that the remaining exams are conducted without any hindrance, deputy director of Pre-University Education Department requested the Superintendent of Police to provide increased police protection at the college.

More security sought

Also, increased protection  was sought for six more examination centres in Athani taluk. The colleges are Sri Murugharajendra Pre-University College, Athani, M G Pre-University College, Telsang, S G S Pre-University College, Madbhavi, KLES Pre-University College, Shirguppi, S S M S Pre-University College, Athani and Shivarudra Pre-University College, Kagwad.
