<p>The creative streak in the City among budding artists is an unending scenario. <br /><br />With the rise of ideas progressing each year, the time has come to showcase the ‘little flowers’ blossoming.<br /><br /><em><br /><br />Nanna Sutta Mutta </em>— Near my Home is an exhibition of water colour paintings and photographs by the participants of the 10th annual workshop, organised by Visual Arts <br />Workshop and Ananya Drushya, and is on display at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. This exhibition takes interest in displaying the artwork of children aged between six and 16 years. <br /><br />The painting workshop challenged the children’s creativity by adding a twist to the theme. <br /> The participants were asked to explore the theme of ‘homes and neighbourhood’ without the use of colour white.<br /><br />The technique of using water colours on special handmade paper has a characteristic beauty of its own.<br /><br />Some of the highlights of the exhibition were seen though some exemplary work by a few children. Sagar’s (11 years) painting titled ‘neeli manegalu’ shows the other side of Bangalore. Kavitha S (13 years) showed the simple pleasures of living with her painting titled Happy street. <br /><br />The other workshop was on photography; the children learnt the rudiments of <br />creative photography by capturing the sights of South Bangalore. <br /><br />Manjunath (11 years)expressing his disgust on people using the footpath as a urinal titled his photograph Don’t ruin my street. <br /><br />Another interesting photograph was by Meghana R (14 years) which was of a shady footpath in monochrome titled By-gone lane.<br /><br />The workshops were guided by artists R Raja, R Vaidehi, Ramya, and P Chandramohan.<br /><br /><em> The exhibition will be on till May 10.</em> <br /></p>
