The creative streak in the City among budding artists is an unending scenario.

With the rise of ideas progressing each year, the time has come to showcase the ‘little flowers’ blossoming.

Nanna Sutta Mutta
— Near my Home is an exhibition of water colour paintings and photographs by the participants of the 10th annual workshop, organised by Visual Arts
Workshop and Ananya Drushya, and is on display at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. This exhibition takes interest in displaying the artwork of children aged between six and 16 years.

The painting workshop challenged the children’s creativity by adding a twist to the theme.
The participants were asked to explore the theme of ‘homes and neighbourhood’ without the use of colour white.

The technique of using water colours on special handmade paper has a characteristic beauty of its own.

Some of the highlights of the exhibition were seen though some exemplary work by a few children. Sagar’s (11 years) painting titled ‘neeli manegalu’ shows the other side of Bangalore. Kavitha S (13 years) showed the simple pleasures of living with her painting titled Happy street.

The other workshop was on photography; the children learnt the rudiments of
creative photography by capturing the sights of South Bangalore.

Manjunath (11 years)expressing his disgust on people using the footpath as a urinal titled his photograph Don’t ruin my street.

Another interesting photograph was by Meghana R (14 years) which was of a shady footpath in monochrome titled By-gone lane.

The workshops were guided by artists R Raja, R Vaidehi, Ramya, and P Chandramohan.

The exhibition will be on till May 10.
