At 6 am, the pooja was offered to six buses in front of the new bus stand and started operating three buses in the opposite direction. While three buses started from Dasarakoppal side, another three buses rolled out from Channapatna Bypass side.
The people who had no imagination that those buses were city buses, hesitated to board. The residents of Dasarakoppal were questioning among self that why those buses were plying in their locality. Seeing the electronic sign boards, a few called those buses as ‘Computer buses’. A lady who travels to Industrial Area from Dasarakoppal told Deccan Herald that earlier she used to leave house at least 30 minutes in advance.
With the introduction of city bus service now she gets buses once in ten minutes. “I can spend some more time with my family members”, she added. The engineering students have also welcomed introduction of city buses in the city.
Divisional Controller Basavaraj said he along with other officials of KSRTC travelled in the buses for sometime. There is very good response from the citizens.
Twelve more buses would be introduced on two other routes shortly, he noted.
