Premakka (45), Nagaveni (20) and Malashree (18) drowned while washing in the tank. Nagaveni slipped and began drowning when Malashree and Premakka went to her rescue. All three lost their lives.
Dyamakka, who tried to save the drowning women, managed to survive when some persons who noticed the tragedy rushed to her rescue.
Circle Police Inspector Nararaj and Sub-Inspector Prakash Patil visited the spot and registered a complaint.
