'Government cheating farmers'

Accusing the government of cheating the farmers, they demanded steps to set right the irregularities. Land purchased by the government through brokers should be returned to the farmers, and the deal should be stuck directly with the farmers, failing which stir will be intensified, the protesters warned.

 They also held legislator V Muniyappa responsible for the injustice meted on the farmers.
The land purchased by the housing board in J Venkatapur, Hospete, Buluvanahalli and Suguturu limits should be handed over to the farmers and the same should be purchased at the price set by the government, they demanded and warned of taluk bundh if  action is not taken within two weeks.

A memorandum was submitted to Assistant Commissioner Seenappa.

District Principal Secretary Ma Sha Sundaramurthy, District Vice-President K B Manjunath, Taluk President M Venkataronappa, City President Naganarasimha, Principal Secretary N A Venkatesh, Women Unit District President  Shashikala and others led the protest.

Tahsildar Reshma Tahaseen and DySP Govindiaiah were present on the occasion.
