The event was held in collaboration with the Bangalore Film Society and had the audiences enjoy an evening of short films titled ‘Sélection G.E.N.R.E’.

Each of the films had won many prestigious awards in many film festivals in France and abroad.

The first film of the evening was ‘In their skin’ directed by Arnaud Malherbe.

A comic fantasy, the movie told the story of Joseph, a small time delivery boy who takes the place of a dynamic executive.

He starts living his life and in spite of there being practically no resemblance between the two, strangely no one suspects the impersonation. The second film ‘Angie’ by Olivier Megaton took a U-turn and had the audience trying to solve a psychological mystery.

The movie traced the day of two detectives on Christmas eve as they try to solve an accident that devastated a house and the entire family.

Even though the running time was only 21 minutes, the movie held a tight grip on everyone’s mind.

The acting as well as the background score was tense and gripping and the production quality of the movie was as good as a full length movie.

The work of the young girl, who played the title character of Angie was especially reverting and made the movie thrilling.

The last movie of the evening was ‘Loyal Competition’ by Jean-Luc Herbulot which was a fast paced thriller.

The movie shows an afternoon in the life of Olivier Solano, a young advocate, who is preparing a legal offensive against a big oil company.

During this time, he and his wife are targeted by two sharpshooters, each of whom offers to accomplish the task at a better price.

It was the shortest movie in the bunch but had the most impact. The tension on screen,
created by the haggling scenes, where the victims try to escape was simply breathtaking.

Although the audience was expecting two more short films, a technical glitch cut the evening short.

‘All My Life’ by Pierre Ferrière and ‘At Day Break’ by Xavier Gens could not be watched by the crowd assembled because of an error and the first movie was replayed at the audience’s request.
