Injured tiger cries for medical assistance

According to sources, the big cat had suffered injury on its left limb. It has been groaning with pain.  The forest guards on rounds heard the sound and informed the senior officers of the Department of Forest.

The officers have clicked the photograph of the injured tiger from a long distance.
According to them, the tiger might have injures its tooth while fighting with a wild boar or with another tiger. It was very difficult to say how and when it got injured its tooth, they added.

This morning, a team of officials visited the spot and are trying to heal its pain by mixing antibiotics with the meat. However, the roaring has stopped since morning.

Deputy Conservator of Forests Dr K T Hanumanthappa told Deccan Herald that they have spotted the tiger which has been roaring and even clicked pictures.

Treatment is started to cure the pain. Liver of cow is liked by tiger. So, the medicine is placed inside the liver and kept it near a water point where the big tiger comes to drink water. The officials are pinning hope of tiger's recovery in the next few days.

Found dead

A six-year-old tiger was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Balle forests of H D Kote taluk in Mysore district. The nails of the big cat are missing.

According to information reaching here, the tiger may have died four to five days ago. It came to the notice of a mahout who was in forests in search of the elephant.

On receipt of information, Deputy Conservator of Forests Vijayranjan Singh, Assistant Conservator of Forests Chandrashekar and Range Forest Officer A V Satish visited the spot.

Veterinarian, Dr Nagaraj conducted the postmortem on the tiger and opined that it has died in fight with another tiger.

Calf dies

An eight-month-old elephant calf was found in backwaters of River Kapila in the taluk.
The forest officials opined that the calf might have died on Wednesday.  Dr Nagaraj conducted postmortem and found that the calf had suffered deep injuries on its head. The entire portion had been decomposed.
