The casualties in Friday's protests in Daraa town, 100 km south of Damascus, were all from the security forces and police, according to Xinhua.
Earlier on the day, thousands of Syrians took to the streets in major Syrian cities including Damascus, Daraa, Homs, Latakia and Der el-Zour.
