The minister who is also son-in-law of equally controversial former Congress Working Committee member G Venkatswamy has put the Congress president Sonia Gandhi once again in tight spot.

The news channel cameras have caught him in action both passing the buck on Congress president Sonia Gandhi and for  slapping his personal assistant.

In a lighter banter with local media in Bobbili in Srikakulam district, the minister disclosed that he had filed several petitions in the AP High Court against the illegal assets of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at the behest of the Congress president.

The minister was again embroiled in a controversy on Friday when he slapped his personal assistant Venkateswara Rao, in full public glare for not attending a call while he was addressing a meeting in the district town.

In the presence of media ,local Congress MLA and other officials , the minister verbally abused him and slapped him.

Shankar Rao had also claimed that former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy had been a “fixer” even in his college days. Rao claimed that YSR had problems in passing his MBBS exams at the Gulbarga Medical College and had sought help. “I had helped YSR in getting good marks and passing his MBBS through my contacts,” he claimed.
